Amarin last night disclosed that the estimated number of normalized total Vascepa prescriptions for the first four calendar months were as follows: 3,224 in February; 7,260 in March; 12,314 in April; and 16,076 in May. The estimated number of normalized total Vascepa prescriptions for June is 18,367. Data provided for June excludes the last two calendar days of June. As of June 30, over 7,300 clinicians have written prescriptions for Vascepa, the company added. Because of its limited selling history, Amarin said it does not believe it can provide a reasonably accurate forecast of Vascepa prescriptions or revenues.
