Former NFL quarterback and current analyst Ron Jaworski rips Nick Saban for being a ‘liar’

Nick Saban's name has been attached to several potential NFL coaching vacancies, but one analyst isn't eager to see Saban come back into the league.

Ron Jaworski, a former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and current analyst for ESPN, told 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia this week that he didn't want Saban back in the NFL because he thought he was a liar.

I'm not a Saban guy, because I don't like liars, and I think he lied. I think he lied to the Miami Dolphins and he lied to the fans of Miami, and he left. And it's pretty simple. I think integrity is very important. If you don't have integrity, I don't know how you can be successful. Yeah, I know he's great at Alabama and he'll probably win another national championship, but I just don't like people that don't have integrity. So it's pretty easy for me to say I don't want Nick Saban in town.

Go ask some players on that team. Go ask some coaches on that team. They'll tell ya. The Bobby Petrino's of the world. I have a hard time backing those kinds of guys when they lie. If you don't have integrity man, I don't want to be around you.

Saban left LSU in 2004 to coach the Miami Dolphins, but his stay in the league was pretty short. By 2006, Alabama had fired Mike Shula and Saban was at the top of the Crimson Tide's wishlist. For weeks, Saban vehemently denied rumors that he was returning to the college game. But, after the Dolphins' season-ending loss to Indianapolis, he met with Alabama and the rest is history. Saban was 15-17 as an NFL coach.

Alabama fans will be excited to hear Jaworski's comments because they don't want to see Saban leave. Saban has turned the Crimson Tide into a yearly powerhouse and considering the recruiting classes, that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.
