Sergio Garcia on Tiger Woods: ‘He’s not the nicest guy on tour’

If you thought the sparring between Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods was done after Sergio blamed Tiger for a bad shot he hit early in his third round of the Players Championship, you were mistaken.

After the horn blew for darkness on Saturday at TPC Sawgrass, Tiger was asked about the incident that happened on the second hole during the third round where Garcia hit a bad shot and immediately looked in Tiger's direction, saying after that he felt like Woods had pulled a club as Garcia was starting to address his ball which got the crowd to cheer in Sergio's backswing.

"The marshals, they told me he already hit, so I pulled a club and was getting ready to play my shot, and then I hear his comments afterwards and (it's) not real surprising that he's complaining about something," Woods said.

Asked after if the two talked about the incident, Tiger said, "We didn't do a lot of talking."

Sergio didn't let Tiger get the last words in on this, telling the media on Saturday evening, "I'm not going to lie, he's not my favorite guy to play with. He's not the nicest guy on tour."

Garcia had a chance to catch Woods on Sunday at the Players, making birdie on the par-5 16th to tie for the lead, but an errant tee shot on the famed 17th and an equally as bad second attempt left Sergio with a quadruple-bogey 7 on the par-3 that dashed his chances at a second Players Championship trophy.

It was a fun week up until that point for Sergio, but it just seems whenever Tiger is atop the leaderboard, something happens to Garcia down the stretch, and we saw that on Sunday at Sawgrass.
