Mariah Carey No Longer Managed by Randy Jackson

Mariah Carey has been managed by her fellow "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson since 2011, and he reportedly was instrumental in brokering her record-setting $18 million deal to join him at the "Idol" judges' table this year. But Mariah is no longer Randy's star managerial client, a source has confirmed.

The diva, who released her new single "#Beautiful" (featuring Miguel) this week, has signed with power-player company Red Light Management, which represents the Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, and many other A-listers. Red Light also recently signed former "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler.

The official reason given for Mariah's professional parting with Randy, according to Showbiz411, is that their schedules were "too hectic." But considering how her "Idol" stint has turned out, it's all too easy to speculate that she might want a break from the "Idol" world entirely.

This Red Light news comes hot on the heels of rumors that "Idol" producers tried to replace Mariah mid-season with ex-judge Jennifer Lopez; right after a particularly nasty Twitter rant by Nicki Minaj, in which Nicki called Mariah "bitter" and "insecure"; and after Mariah's husband, Nick Cannon, has given several frank interviews defending his wife's side in this season's ongoing "Idol" drama.

Randy's history with Mariah far predates 2011. The two first met during Mariah's Columbia Records era, when Randy was vice president of the label's A&R department in the 1990s. Randy has produced, co-written, and played bass on several of Mariah's albums, including Charmbracelet, The Emancipation of Mimi, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, and most recently, her 2010 holiday release, Merry Christmas II You. He also wrote and produced two songs for her infamous 2001 box-office flop (and final Columbia release), Glitter--so hey, if Mariah forgave Randy for being involved in that disaster, maybe she doesn't hold a grudge against him and "Idol" after all. The pair still seem chummy sitting together on the "Idol" panel, indicating that this parting was amicable and that they may even still musically collaborate in the future.

Mariah and Miguel's "#Beautiful" music video will premiere on tonight's "American Idol" top three performance show. She is also rumored to perform a medley of her greatest hits on next week's "Idol" finale.
