Johnny Manziel will be taking classes on campus in the summer, fall

Alert campus security and brace for the paparazzi because Johnny Manziel is coming back to the Texas A&M campus.

Manziel, the Aggies Heisman Trophy winning quarterback, chose to take online-only classes this semester after determining that his newfound Heisman fame made it difficult for him to be on campus. But after a semester away, Manziel told media while in New Orleans to accept the Manning Award that he plans to return to campus this summer and in the fall.

“It was just one semester — something that I needed and wanted to do,” he said.

Well, if Cam Newton can win a Heisman and be a top NFL draft pick, and still attend classes like a normal student, there’s no reason Manziel can’t handle a couple extra folks wanting to shake his hand and take his picture.

Manziel said he’s had to learn a lot he past five months or so to adjust to life as the face of the Heisman Trophy. He claims criticism regarding his off-field activities — NBA games, bars, girls, girls, girls — won’t change how he approaches the game or even how he approaches his private life.

He said he just needs to be more careful whom he lets into his inner circle.

“I continue to slip up every now and then with people that you think you can trust and you really can’t,” Manziel said. “So I’m continuing to learn things every day.”
