Hawthorn hammer Sydney to win AFL grand final

A rampant Hawthorn have completely dominated Sydney to win the AFL grand final at the MCG.

The Hawks established a 42-point half-time lead and carried on with things after the break to win back-to-back premierships.

The Swans ended the home and away season on top of the ladder to earn the minor premiership, and coasted through September en route to their second grand final in three years.

But they came up against a Hawthorn team desperate to obtain revenge from the 2012 decider loss, and who scraped through a preliminary final against Port Adelaide to earn the opportunity to go back-to-back in 2014.

Hawks captain Luke Hodge was a stand-out while Jarrad Roughead was on song with the boot.
